This is a national scheme open to all homeowners. Landlords and owners of multiple properties may also apply. Grants will be provided for investment in energy efficiency improvements.
A grant of up to €200 is available for a BER which is carried out before and after the works are completed.
Although a BER is not compulsory for claiming the grants, a BER rating with an accompanying advisory report will help identify areas that could improve your level of comfort along with reducing future heating bills. It is important to remember that doubling the amount of insulation will not halve your heating bill or your heat loss. A Ber assessment can indicate which form of insulation would prove most benificial to a homeowner in the most economical manner.
